Bass lessons (upright or electric) are available from Matt within the New York City area. Lessons generally run about an hour long but can be extended or shortened based on your needs. Some topics that are covered, but not limited too, include: technique, bass line construction in all styles, theory, listening, extended technique, soloing, bass as a composition tool, electronics, experimentation/bass preparation, music business, gear, and of course tailoring to each individual player and their needs. All levels of experience are welcome whether you are a beginner trying to build a strong foundation or a pro looking for some fine tuning. In the spring of 2008 Matt founded the band “Falls.” The band is devoted to the development of pure creative music that strives to relate and share with all willing to listen. Falls has been influenced by many styles of music throughout the world but it is the spirit of 80's pop music, the depth of film music, the rich melodies of the romantic period, the extremely unique sound of NYC’s modern jazz groups, and the care-free attitude of the indie-rock scene that lend constant ignitions to the ever changing idea that is Falls.
